Vehicles Overview

Management company portfolio vehicles overview

The Management Company Portfolio Vehicles page provides a consolidated view of all portfolio vehicles managed within the management company context. It is designed to help users review the full vehicle list, assess portfolio status at a glance, and move quickly into vehicle creation or maintenance tasks.

This page works as an operational index rather than a performance analytics page. Users come here to understand the current portfolio structure, compare vehicles across a standard set of operational fields, and access the right entity for follow-up work.

What users can see

The page includes the management-company navigation menu with Dashboard, Portfolio, Investors, Operations, Financials, Reports, and Documents. It also includes a global navigation area with AML, Campaigns, Users, and Valuat Symphony, plus internal links for SFTP and Valuat Services.

Within the Portfolio area, the user can switch between three portfolio views: Vehicles, Companies, and Funds.

The Vehicles view displays the total number of vehicles currently listed.

The main content area contains a table of vehicles with a consistent set of portfolio management fields. Users can see each vehicle’s name, lifecycle status, total commitments, number of investors, number of active investments, exits, and write-offs.

What users can do

Users can review all vehicles in one place and compare them using a standard operating view. This is useful for quickly understanding which vehicles are active, which are still fundraising, and which may require attention because their data is incomplete or unusual.

Users can create a new vehicle through the Add Vehicle action. This supports portfolio expansion and manual record creation directly from the vehicle list.

Users can also use Import from AirTable to bring vehicle data into the platform. This supports workflows where portfolio records are maintained or staged in an external source before being synced into the system.

Users can switch to Companies or Funds when they need a different portfolio lens. This makes the page part of a broader portfolio workspace rather than a standalone list.

Tips for users

  • Start with this page when you need a complete operational view of all portfolio vehicles.
  • Use the status column first; it gives the fastest read on where each vehicle sits in its lifecycle.
  • Scan for blank commitment values or zero-count records, as these may indicate vehicles that are newly created, incomplete, or not yet active.
  • Use the investor and active investment columns together to distinguish fundraising vehicles from deployed vehicles.
  • Use the exits and write-offs columns to identify mature or stressed vehicles before opening a more detailed review.
  • Switch to Companies or Funds when the question is about underlying assets or fund-level structure rather than vehicle administration.

Example use case

A portfolio operations lead opens this page to review the current list of vehicles before a portfolio data check. They scan lifecycle status, commitments, investor counts, and investment activity, then add a new vehicle or investigate a specific record that looks incomplete or inconsistent.
